Urban Workshop
Posted on: 03/07/2024On Thursday the 27th June Harris Professional Skills were delighted to welcome Urban Plan to our school to work with our Business and Art students. The workshop focused on the redevelopment of a blighted site in a hypothetical town. Students were grouped into teams to form real estate development companies responding to a call for proposals from a fictional City Authority. Teams addressed challenging financial, market, social, political, and design issues and develop a model of their plan. They then pitched and presented their ideas to a range of property volunteers who offered them advice, shared their expert feedback and chose a winning team.
The winning team will be heading to the Celebration Event in central London at the end of term to meet all the other winners from across the counrty and to network with employers from the construction industry. A fantastic opportunity for all involved!
