Construction Workshop

Harris Professional Skills hosted the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings who kindly sent Tom Skinner - a conservation builder specialising in historic timber-framed buildings and Matthew Wilson – a bricklayer specialising in historic brickwork with lime mortar. Year 13 construction students were able to hear about the experts journeys into construction and see some of the amazing work they have been able to complete over the years. Not only was the workshop inspiring but it was also an eye opening experience for the students who were able to see a number of different ways they could apply the skills they have learnt so far on their construction course and an opportunity to see potential career pathways for the future.
